Just as promised...I am back. I hope to be visiting here more frequently. It's an easy task when you only make two posts a year. I think I may keep this resolution after all. Here's the update on the Tomki's. Last February we put an offer on a project of a house and it finally closed in the middle of May. Ryan got burned so our summer was spent re-covering (the both of us) and then got to work on the house. We moved in with our DEAR friends Doc and LeeAnne (who I adore) and got to work on the house. If you ever thought it would be a good idea to buy a house from the 30's and fix it up...you are right. You just have to have TONS of money and TONs of time and a fountain of house fixer-upper knowledge. We didn't really have any of those things...except for my dad...he is definitely the fountain of house anything knowledge. We could not have done it without him! Thanks Dad! Love you so much! So after much of a hit to our savings account and a session of therapy that brought our marriage back together (Not kidding in the slightest. You want to find out if you love your spouse you need to remodel a house together and if you are still together and love each other afterwards you are golden!)we finished the upstairs and moved in the week of Christmas. May I just say that I LOVE my house? It was so stressful for me to put all of the things together. We had to decide everything from scratch. We took everything out and down and built it back up again. It is so fun to see what our style is as a couple and fun for our friends to see what we have chosen to do in the house. Pictures don't do this place justice before or after. It was a mess before and it is so pretty now. Imagine 11 layers of wallpaper that all had to come down because there was mold in between every single layer! Not joking. The place smelled awful. The majority of our summer last year was spent scraping wallpaper. Too fun. Really. We have moved onto the yard and the basement but the pressure is off to rush through the work so it's turned into something fun rather than a war zone.
