Life at Sharon Kay

After the wedding bells chimed and life began we returned from the honeymoon to life at Sharon Kay Apartments. Ryan had been the on site manager for 3 years and we decided that the rent free bonus out weighed anything else and I moved in. Ryan's previous time spent there had been
filled with male roommates and furnished with treasures that had been found on the streets. After vacuuming my apartment most recently I told Ryan that his vacuum smelled funny and that it might be nice to get a new one. He proceeded to tell me that the vacuum had been in the apartment when he moved in now over 4 year
s ago and he thought that someone had found it on the street. Gross. We are in the process of buying a BRAND NEW one right now (any suggestions on preferences let me know!) The entire apartment fell into this category. Before we cleaned and then painted and then cleaned again and again and again I wouldn't dare walk around barefoot. I still wore flip flops in the shower which I said I would never do again after doing it for 1.5 years in Venezuela. After all of the work it was livable and kind of cozy. Our days consisted of speaking to all of our neighbors in Spanish..thank goodness we still had a chance to keep up on it...and taking shopping carts back to Smith's. That one embarrassed me all of the time until Ryan pushed me and the nieces in one. Now I see shopping carts as only entertainment! After fixing the place up and actually enjoying my time there we were told that a new owner had purchased the building and a manager was no longer needed but if we wanted to stay we could pay $675 a month to live in

the ghetto (9th East 750 South for those who don't believe me...go drive by!). So we opted to leave behind our cozy home and search for greener pastures which we now pay for (and hate doing so every month) but love. Here are some pics of the old place....
Don't feel like you are missing out on the pics that are cut off...that really is all of the place. We were pushed up against a wall to even get the pics that we did. I chose to left out the picture of the closet as I don't like to be reminded how small it was. I wished I could just go naked because it was a fight to try to get clothes out of the thing they were smashed so tightly in there. Yet I still kept on shopping for more! I can't wait until I get a HUGE closet all to myself!!!

Happy Halloween 2007!?!

So although I didn't make it for the deadline of our one year anniversary to update everyone on our first year of being married...better late than never. Now I am just hoping for gettin' 'er done before the end of the year...which may I add...PLEASE STOP DOING A COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS! What's with you people. I can now see the attractiveness of Christmas in July. Let the wierdos get it out of their system! Anyway...Halloween was exciting for me last year. It was the first year that I was able to dress up with my hubby. The year before we got engaged on Halloween so there was NO costume for that one. I decided that I would be Tinker Bell and that Doc (we all remember my very good friend Doc) would be Captain hook. As you can all see he plays a fabulous Hook. He actually played the part too. All day long. I wanted him to be Cat Woman and I Bat Man but he wouldn't as it would be very difficult to act the part all day long and at the hopsital! So Tinker Bell and Hook it was. That left only one choice for my sexy man...Peter Pan. Pushing aside Ryan's displeasure I shopped for his "outfit" and settled on a green T-Shirt which I would cut to give it some jagged edges, a cool felt hat and of course green tights. I can say that when I showed him what was in the bag when I got home that night our first real fight as newly weds developed. Needless to say he dressed up as a Lumber Jack?!? That's right. He thought of the most MANLY costume he could come up with and to this day when remembering the story he just shakes his head and says "I can't believe you wanted me to wear that short T-Shirt and tights. I just can't believe it". Happy Halloween 2007. Hopefully I do a better job for 2008.

One can't forget Grampy on a day like this either. He didn't even know what he was. Old people can get away with anything!

Why Ryan is lucky (written by Ryan)

Well as stated in the title of this post, Tiffany is not the author of this one- I figure it's not fair that she gets to tell everything that goes on from her side of it, so I am taking a stab at this whole blog thing. For my birthday Tiff surprised me with the thing that makes me happier than anything- (well besides her) CAMPING!!! I got to open my birthday present right before we went and guess what it was- a boat. Now I feel like a real man. We went up AF canyon and spent the night at a little spot we found last year. It was a relaxing get away spent cruising around the lake.

The best birthday surprise however was discovered when I went outside in the morning to go to work. Tiffany wrote Happy B-day messages all over my truck's windows in neon colors. The best was that "Honk it's my birthday on the back window". So there I go down the freeway with my tough guy truck and landscaping trailer with smiley faces, hearts and birthday boy written all over it. It made my day because people kept smiling and honking and waving. If any of you are ever having a bad day you really should give that one a try.

To sum it up I am the luckiest guy I know to have Tiffany. She is the best!

I'm on Fire...

As promised more updates! Just remember that I am doing an update from the year's past in order starting from the Wedding...I am not time challenged.
On for the updates.....
As if taking me to Barbados for a honeymoon wasn't enough, Ryan suprised me with tickets to the Chris Isaak concert at Red Butte Gardens. The signer doesn't look so grand here but don't I look so happy? He played all of my favorites...I'm on fire and Crazy Love. It was a good night. How could it not be...look at that pink suit!

Summing it up: Starting with the wedding!

So I took the wedding pics off to update, as promised, and got a call from my friend Jen last night telling me she saw that I had taken my wedding pics off and dreamt that I left Ryan for a WJ High alumni football player...yuck! Rest assured, Ryan and I are still together and going for the long haul! The big one year is about to come. Crazy! Well enjoy the pics!

I don't even know if people are looking at my blog anymore since it's been so long since I have written but I am giving it another go. I was thinking that a lot has happened since we got married and I'm good if I can get it all posted before the one year anniversary comes! So here are some pics starting back from that amazing day on June 30, 2007. For those of you who were betting that I wouldn't show up to the wedding...being married is ten times better than planning a wedding! I just love that kid!

Man....I just love this boy....and my dress!

Cutting that yummy cake!
Our first dance....

No blog is complete without Grampy.
or Gabe. It was really hot that day...so sue me for showing some leg...at least it's a cute leg right?

I remember thinking here how happy I was that I had married Ryan...mushy but true...and look at that dress!

I loved my cake. I didn't think it would be that good but it was and I just finished it off the other day. I can't wait to order some more for our one year (I just couldn't bare to freeze the top and wait a year to eat it...so we ate it driving to the hotel the night we got married and I don't regret it!)

Here's me and my mom....
and my dad...Ryan and his parents...

My and my sis Tricia.......me and my sis's Tricia and Danielle (sister #3 couldn't make it from New York).....Ryan and his sisters Kara and Lisa and older bro Brandt.

Good friends are hard to come by...you have them, you really have them. This is me and Doc dancing, me and Justin snuggling-talk about the best male maid of honor-this guy knows how to spoil a girl!

Then there's me and the official Maid of Honor by best friend Jen. Here you would think we were getting along but we were actually fighting over who had the best bouquet. I won!
...and then there's Darci carrying me over the threshold?!?

and the official Maid of Honor Jen comparing bouquets (mine was totally better!).
Ryan's nephew Caleb (below) and my nephew Gabe (right). Cutest boys. (Gabe is hunting for bugs and here he holds his trophy, a poorly destined ant to be eaten by Gabe's two year old teeth). The get-a-way car. Now that's driving away in style...thanks to Bob.

The final "send off" or so they say. "just married" ...feels like it happened just yesterday. I hate to be mushy but I just love this kid and couldn't think of doing it with anyone else! Cheers to us...Ryan & Tiff.
